Amber texted me in January with the news that the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) would hold its annual conference in Los Angeles in 2025. I immediately lit up; in recent years, Los Angeles has been the site of restorative visits filled with many forms of creative inspiration. I invited another such opportunity, and I quickly secured my registration after she reached out.
